Francisco from Guatemala...
...comes from one of the many families with which Mundo Maya
liaises to obtain our unique range of bags. He and his Guatemalan family
are from the same village as the craftspeople that produce by hand the
intricately woven tapestries which you see on the front of his bags.
He purchases the materials from his neighbours and makes the bags with
his sturdy little sewing machine, using the same cotton base material
that Mayan women traditionally wear as skirts... the cotton is thick,
strong, durable and washable.
You can see the tapestry work on his lapelles... this is the same design
as you see on the front of the Geo bag, and is traditionally worn by
himself and his townspeople to signify their place of origin.
